Beef Offerings

Our current price for our beef is $4.25 per lb hanging weight. This does NOT include processing costs. Processing is typically around $1.00 per lb hanging weight, but will vary slightly depending on how you request your meat to be processed. For exact processing costs, please contact the locker (see processing section below).

 

Quarter.

A quarter of beef will equal approximately 200 lbs. of hanging weight. This will net you around 138 lbs. of meat in your freezer.

Half.

A half of beef will equal approximately 400 lbs. of hanging weight. This will net you around 276 lbs. of meat in your freezer.

 

As an example, retail cuts for your quarter or half will be approximately 31% steaks, 31% roasts, 38% ground beef and stew meat.

A rule of thumb is that 1 cubic foot of freezer space is required for every 35-40 lbs. of cut and wrapped meat.

Example: A quarter of beef resulting in 138 lbs. of wrapped meat would require approximately 4 cubic feet of freezer space.

Order and Delivery Process

 

Ordering.

In order to reserve your beef, there will be a non-refundable deposit of $100 for the quarter and $200 for the half. Select your option in our shop and pick your desired availability from the drop down menu. You will be prompted to fill out your information with name, email, phone number, and address so we can contact you closer to your date. Complete the information and check out. You will receive an email confirmation once the order is complete.

The remainder of your payment, minus your deposit, is due once a final hanging weight is determined by the locker. We will be in contact once that has been established.


Processing.

Processing for our meat is completed by the Durant Locker in Durant, Iowa (563-785-4854) or Baetke Custom Cuts in Eldridge, Iowa (563-468-8386).

Once the remainder of your payment is made, you will need to contact the locker to discuss how you would like your meat cut. The locker will give you a final processing cost and payment will need to be made directly to them. They will contact you once your cuts are ready and will arrange a time to pick up directly from the locker.

Delivery.

We are no longer offering delivery as of 01/01/2023. All beef orders will need to be picked up in person at the locker and pickup times will need to be coordinated with the locker.
